NZ statistics

- obesity
almost one in three New zealand adults (aged 15 years and over) are obese (31%), a further 34% were overweight.

- smoking
A lot of smokers start smoking as teenagers and don't stop.

- cancer
The reality is that up to 9 out of 10 lung cancers are caused by smoking. Lung cancer occurs most often in adults between the ages of 40 and 70 who have smoked cigarettes for at least 20 years. They are also likely to have started smoking as teenagers.

- exercise

  • men are more likely (57 percent) than woman (51 percent) to be physically active for at least 30 minutes on five or more days per week.

Samoan is the 3rd most spoken language in New zealand.
