Advice for year 7's

  • DO NOT BRING A CELLPHONE OR OTHER HANDHELD DEVICE, because it will get confiscated and your parents will have to pick them up after school.
  • Do not try to visit any social media websites during school hours on a school day, because Mr Ransley can track every website you've been on even if you have deleted your browsing history.
  • Do not climb trees.
  • You can wear you PE shorts under you school shorts as long as they are not showing.
  • Do you homework.
  • Wear your school uniform to school and you can get changed into your PE gear at school.

Is the paper book disappearing?

Do you think that the paper book will disappear? Will the Ipad take over? With the increase in technology and the abilities that come with them, I personally don't think that the paper book will last.

With a brand new Ipad costing about $600-$700 and the paper book costing around $20, I would've thought that the book would've been more popular. But no, With the amount of things that you can do on an Ipad that you can't do on a book. For example, You cant browse the web on a book but you can on an ipad, you can't watch videos on a book but you can on an ipad. The book is so much better in some ways because there is no waiting for the internet to load so you can read your book, you wont get distracted with a book because there is no internet to browse or games to play. If you go on a overseas holiday with your family and you brought a book with you, you would have more memories and experiences than if you went on google maps and looked up your favourite locations.

Here are some statistics:
2/8 people in my group read a physical book in the last week.
100% of people in m group read something on a computer in the last week.

I personally like books as much as I like I-pads, but thats my opinion and I hope thats paper books are still around in 50-60 years.

Punctuation

It was a monday morning, I just got woken up by my mum to get ready for school. I got out of bed and reached down for my uniform but it wasn't there. I looked under my bed, under my pillows but I couldn't find my uniform anywhere.
"Kaidin have you gotten in the shower yet?" asked Kaidin's Mum.
"No Mum I can't find my uniform," said Kaidin.
"Well you better find it quick or you will be going to school in your onesie."
"But mum I can't find it anywhere, it’s like its just disappeared."
"Oh sure just like all your other stuff huh kaidin."

I got a note to go to school with to say that my uniform is lost and that I have to wear mufti just for today which was a pain, because every teacher I walked past asked why i'm in mufti and where my uniform is so I just showed them the note and moved on. When I got home I went to go grab my iPod from where I always put it, but I looked and that wasn't there either,
I yelled out to my mum. "Mum have you seen my iPod?"
"No but do you know where did you last put it mum?"
